The President of the Council is hereby authorised to deposit the instrument of accession with the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation as from the date on which the Council and the Commission have adopted the measures which are necessary for the establishment of a link between Community design law and the Geneva Act.

(8) Pour ces motifs, le Conseil, sur proposition de la Commission(6), a approuvé le protocole de Madrid et autorisé le président du Conseil à déposer l'instrument d'adhésion auprès du directeur général de l'Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle (OMPI) à compter de la date à laquelle le Conseil aura adopté les mesures nécessaires pour donner effet à l'adhésion de la Communauté européenne au protocole de Madrid.
(8) For the above reasons, the Council, acting on a proposal from the Commission(6), approved the Madrid Protocol and authorised the President of the Council to deposit the instrument of accession with the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) as from the date on which the Council has adopted the measures which are necessary to give effect to the accession of the European Community to the Madrid Protocol.
