I expected that, following the powerful speeches by Senator Ringuette and Senator Segal yesterday, we would have a defender of the bill, either Senator Carignan, who proposed the motion yesterday; Senator Eaton, the sponsor of the bill; or some other government senator who would stand in his or her place and give us the other side of the story.
