Recalls application EGF/2009/014 ES/Comunidad Valenciana that covered 1.916 out of 2.425 redundancies in the same region and the same sector in Spain in 2008/2009 in the NACE Revision 2 Division 23 (manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products) as well as application EGF/2010/005 ES/Comunidad Valenciana - Natural Stone concerning 528 dismissals in the same region;

La commission de l'emploi et des affaires sociales (EMPL) ainsi que son groupe de travail sur le FEM ont examiné la question de la mobilisation du FEM dans le cas de la demande EGF/2009/014 ES/Comunidad Valenciana et adopté l'avis ci-dessous.
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) as well as its Working Group on the EGF examined the mobilisation of the EGF for the case EGF/2009/014 ES/Comunidad Valenciana and adopted the following opinion.

Le taux d’emploi dans la région s’est déjà ressenti des licenciements survenus chez Nokia, à Bochum, et pour lesquels le FEM a été mobilisé (demande EGF/2009/002 DE/Nokia) La région administrative de Düsseldorf se caractérise par un taux de chômage généralement supérieur à la moyenne de la Rhénanie-du-Nord - Westphalie comme de l’Allemagne.
The employment rate in Arnsberg was already affected by dismissals by Nokia in Bochum, for which an EGF contribution was granted (application EGF/2009/002 DE/Nokia). The administrative district of Düsseldorf is characterised by an unemployment rate that is generally higher than the average for North Rhine Westphalia and Germany.

Le comté et, plus particulièrement, la ville de Waterford ont été touchés par plusieurs vagues de réductions d’effectifs au cours des dernières années. Les licenciements (plus de 650) intervenus à l’usine Waterford Crystal de Kilbarry et dans les entreprises connexes ont fait l’objet d’une précédente demande d’intervention du FEM (EGF/2009/012 IE/Waterford Crystal, cf IP/10/541).
The region and the city of Waterford in particular has been hit by a series of major redundancies in recent years including over 650 redundancies at the Waterford Crystal facility at Kilbarry and ancillary enterprises which were the subject of a separate EGF application (EGF/2009/012 IE/Waterford Crystal – see IP/10/541).
