B. considérant que la Commission vise, au moyen d'un projet de décision d'exécution sur le recensement du bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), du dibutyl phthalate (DBP), du benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) et du diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) en tant que substances extrêmement préoccupantes, conformément à l'article 57, point f), du règlement (CE) n° 1907/2006 du Parlement européen et du Conseil, à recenser le DEHP en tant que substance extrêmement préoccupante;
B. whereas the Commission is aiming, through a draft implementing decision on the identification of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) as substances of very high concern according to Article 57(f) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, to identify DEHP as a substance of very high concern;

E. considérant que, le 12 décembre 2014, le comité des États membres est convenu, à l'unanimité, de recenser le DEHP en tant que substance suscitant un niveau de préoccupation équivalent du fait de ses propriétés perturbant le système endocrinien dans l'environnement ; considérant que le comité des États membres a reconnu à l'unanimité que, dans le cas du DEHP, des preuves scientifiques existent d'une action perturbant le système endocrinien et du lien de cause à effet entre cette action et des effets néfastes sur la santé humaine;
E. whereas, on 12 December 2014, the Member State Committee (MSC) unanimously agreed to the identification of DEHP as a substance giving rise to an equivalent level of concern due to its endocrine disrupting properties in the environment ; whereas the MSC unanimously acknowledged that, in the case of DEHP, there is scientific evidence on endocrine disrupting activity and on the causal link between this activity and adverse effects on human health;

La Commission a terminé la réévaluation des mesures liées à l'annexe XVII, entrée 51, du règlement (CE) no 1907/2006 concernant les substances di(2-éthylhexyl) phtalate (DEHP), dibutyl phtalate (DBP) et butyl benzyl phtalate (BBP), conformément au point 3 de ladite entrée.
The Commission has completed its re-evaluation of the measures of entry 51 of Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 regarding the substances bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), in accordance with paragraph 3 of that entry.

Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) meets the criteria for classification as toxic for reproduction (category 1B) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and therefore meets the criteria for inclusion in Annex XIV to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 pursuant to Article 57(c) of that Regulation.

Although there is no direct evidence that exposure of people to DEHP adversely affects reproduction or development, studies with laboratory rodents clearly show that exposure.can cause adverse effects.Based on recent data on the extent to which humans absorb, metabolize and excrete DEHP, the NTP believes it is reasonable and prudent to conclude that the results reported in laboratory animals indicate a potential for similar or other adverse effects in human populations.
