Je terminerai, Monsieur le Président, en mentionnant très brièvement deux initiatives: la première est la Facilité de la Banque européenne d’investissement, qui devrait porter le nom de la commissaire en hommage à la ténacité dont elle a fait preuve pour défendre un fonds de cohésion sociale totalement novateur dans l’histoire de l’Union européenne. La deuxième est une initiative que nous ne voulons pas voir réduite à néant: le Fonds de solidarité birégional. Ce Fonds ne coûtera rien à l’Union puisque nous ne demandons aucune aide supplémentaire, et il bénéficie par ailleurs du soutien du Parlement européen et de nos partenaires latino-américains.
I shall end, Mr President, by mentioning two initiatives very quickly, so as not to take up too much time: the Facility of the European Investment Bank, which we would like to take the name of the Commissioner, because of her tenacity, of her having promoted a social cohesion fund that is a complete innovation within the European Union’s history; and an initiative that we do not want to come to nothing: that of the Bi-regional Solidarity Fund, a Fund which is not going to cost the Union any money, because we are not asking for any additional aid, a Fund that is supported by the European Parliament and by our Latin American partners.
