TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

- (EL) Monsieur le Président, lorsque nous parlons d’acquis communautaire, nous nous devons d’y inclure également la contribution du Parlement européen, y compris l’expérience et l’apport exceptionnel et constructif de députés tels que M. Hatzidakis, qui a contribué au maintien et au renforcement de la cohésion économique et sociale, non seulement par le biais du présent rapport concernant la proposition de règlement portant dispositions pour les Fonds structurels européens, sur lequel nous allons voter, mais aussi via un rapport antérieur et le document de travail de décembre dernier, et, outre cela, demande aujourd’hui une référence spécifique à la cohésion territoriale de l’Union européenne.
– (EL) Mr President, when we talk of acquis communautaire, we must also include in it the contribution by the European Parliament, with the experience and the exceptional, constructive contribution by MEPs such as Mr Hatzidakis, who not only with this report on the proposal for a regulation laying down provisions for the European Structural Funds on which we are to vote, but also with a previous third report and the working paper last December, has contributed to the maintenance and strengthening of economic and social cohesion and is now also calling for specific reference to the territorial cohesion of the European Union.

Je suis évidemment d'accord avec la Commission et mes collègues, y compris M. Hatzidakis : nous devons tout faire pour améliorer la sécurité routière dans l'Union européenne ; pourtant, je ne peux pas accepter que le moyen d'y arriver passe par l'introduction de cette directive, qui défend une approche peu nuancée de la question.
Whilst clearly agreeing with the Commission and my colleagues, including Mr Hatzidakis, that we must do all we can to improve road safety across the European Union, I cannot agree that the way forward would be the introduction of this directive, which advocated a one-speed-fits-all approach.
