Certes, le Parlement reste d'avis que la législation en matière de protection des intérêts financiers des Communautés européennes devrait être arrêtée dans le cadre communautaire. Mais, comme le Conseil ne partage pas cette opinion et, en adoptant la Convention, a opté pour un instrument juridique relevant du titre VI du traité sur l'Union européenne, il semble désormais judicieux, pour mener le débat concernant les actes qui complètent cette Convention, de rester dans la voie dans laquelle on s'est engagé.
Admittedly, Parliament remains convinced that legislation on protecting the financial interests of the European Communities should be adopted within the Community framework; however, as the Council does not agree and has instead, in adopting the Convention, opted for a legal instrument based on Title VI of the Treaty on European Union, it now seems sensible to continue discussion of the legal acts supplementing the Convention on the basis of the approach which has been adopted.
