(8) L'article 3, paragraphe 1, point c), de la directive 90/425/CEE du Conseil du 26 juin 1990 relative aux contrôles vétérinaires et zootechniques applicables dans les échanges intracommunautaires de certains animaux vivants et de produits dans la perspective de la réalisation du marché intérieur(7) dispose que les animaux destinés aux échanges intracommunautaires doivent être identifiés conformément aux exigences de la réglementation communautaire et être enregistrés de manière à permettre de remonter à l'exploitation, au centre ou à l'organisation d'origine ou de passage et que, avant le 1er janvier 1993, ces systèmes d'identification et d'enregistrement doivent être étendus aux mouvements d'animaux à l'intérieur du territoire de chaque État membre.
(8) Article 3(1)(c) of Council Directive 90/425/EEC of 26 June 1990 concerning veterinary and zootechnical checks applicable in intra-Community trade in certain live animals and products with a view to the completion of the internal market(7) states that animals for intra-Community trade must be identified in accordance with the requirements of Community rules and be registered in such a way that the original or transit holding, centre or organisation can be traced, and that before 1 January 1993 these identification and registration systems are to be extended to the movements of animals within the territory of each Member State.

Whereas Directive 88/406/EEC (4), which amends Directive 64/432/EEC of 26 June 1964 on animal health problems affecting intra-Community trade in bovine animals and swine (5), as last amended by Directive 89/662/EEC (6), lays down common health guarantees regarding enzootic bovine leukosis as applicable to certain categories of bovine animals intended for intra-Community trade which will apply from 1 July 1990;
