BACKGROUND: MEASURES TAKEN BY THE COMMISSION TO DATE Since the end of January this year, the whitefish market has been passing through a serious crisis in the shape of a collapse of prices in February (of between 20% and 40% compared with the same period last year) affecting the markets of the main whitefish-producing Member States.
