L’UE apprécie aussi le rôle positif joué par l’Égypte dans les affaires régionales, notamment sa décision d’accueillir à Charm el-Cheik la réunion de novembre dernier sur l’Iraq, sa position de chef de file des pays arabes dans les préparatifs du dixième anniversaire du processus de Barcelone et sa proposition de recevoir sur son sol la Fondation euro-méditerranéenne Anna Lindh du dialogue entre les cultures, qui sera lancée au cours des prochains mois.
The EU also values Egypt’s positive role regional affairs: its decision to host the Sharm el Sheikh meeting on Iraq last November, its position as lead Arab nation in the preparations of the ten-year anniversary of the Barcelona Process, nd host to the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures, which will be launched in the coming months.

The two parties also outlined the major event in which Cyprus and the European Union were jointly involved that is the Euro- Mediterranean Conference launched in Barcelona which inaugurated the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. 4. A first and positive assessment of the pre-accession strategy, notably the structured dialogue, launched at the last Association Council, was made.
