As government services and important public information become increasingly available on-line, ensuring access to government websites for all citizens becomes as important as ensuring access to public buildings.

Welcomes the conclusions of the Málaga informal ministerial meeting of March 2010 and considers that multi-level governance is a precondition for achieving territorial cohesion in Europe; calls for this principle to be made compulsory for Member States in policy areas with a strong territorial impact in order to ensure balanced territorial development in line with the subsidiarity principle; points out that such a provision should in no way lead to more burdensome procedures;

First, ensuring government information is increasingly available, in line with the eEurope2005 call for Member States to exploit by end 2004 the potential of multi-platform access for basic public services in the mentioned action on 'interactive public services', and the proposed Directive on the re-use of public sector information. [36] Much of this information is very valuable to citizens and often cheaply available.

In line with the principles on a reinforced culture of consultation and dialogue set out in the White Paper on Governance the evaluation should take account of a broad basis of information.
In overeenstemming met de in het Witboek over governance uiteengezette uitgangspunten betreffende een krachtiger cultuur van raadpleging en dialoog dient bij de evaluatie de informatie op brede basis verzameld te worden.
