The Council recalls its Decisions 2010/336/CFSP and 2009/42/CFSP, implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, to support the negotiation and future implementation of an Arms Trade Treaty.

3. Encourages greater cooperation at multinational level between the WTO and the main United Nations institutions in the human rights field; considers that closer links with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and with the special procedures would be particularly useful to provide a multilateral trade framework which would enhance respect for human rights; considers, similarly, that the High Commission's expertise could be taken into account within WTO panels and the appeals body when cases of serious breaches of human rights are observed;

This pilot scheme currently serves to finance an exploratory study under the direction of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (Unidir) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI); it will help the Commission, in cooperation with Parliament and the Council, to press ahead with the programming of new financing instruments.
Daarmee wordt op dit moment een verkennende studie van Unidir en SIPRI gefinancierd, ofwel het VN-instituut voor ontwapeningsonderzoek en het internationaal instituut voor vredesonderzoek in Stockholm. Mede dankzij deze studie zal de Commissie samen met het Parlement en de Raad verder kunnen werken aan de programmering van de nieuwe financieringsinstrumenten.

27. AGREES to work to ensure the strengthening of the institutional framework for sustainable development as outlined in the Plan of Implementation, including strengthening of the collaboration within and between the United Nations System, international financial institutions, the Global Environment Facility and WTO, utilising the United Nations Chief Executive Board for Coordination (CEB), the United Nations Development Group, the Environment Management Group and other inter-agency coordinating bodies;

STEMT ERMEE IN te streven naar een sterker institutioneel kader voor duurzame ontwikkeling als uiteengezet in het uitvoeringsplan, met inbegrip van intensievere samenwerking binnen en tussen het VN-systeem, de internationale financiële instellingen, het Wereldmilieufonds (GEF) en de WTO, en daarbij gebruik te maken van de Coördinatieraad van de uitvoerende functionarissen van de organisatie binnen het systeem van de Verenigde Naties (CEB), de VN-Groep ontwikkeling, de Groep milieubeheer (EMG) en andere organen die de coördinatie tussen de organen verzorgen;

Its role will be: (i)to monitor and assess the conduct of the electoral process in Zaire and keep the Council regularly informed thereof, on the Presidency's authority; (ii)to maintain an on-the-spot dialogue with the Zairean Government, the institutions responsible for preparing for, and organizing, the elections, the relevant United Nations institutions and the providers of funds other than the European Union, and coordinate European assistance to the elections with them; and (iii) to supervise the implementation of assistance and possible observation of the elections by the Union.

There will be representatives of all the sectors concerned, including experts in technological research and development and in vocational training, and representatives of farmers' organizations, the agro-industrial sector, consumer organizations and public and private bodies responsible for research and training policy. Apart from Mr Ruberti and Mr Steichen, participants at the opening plenary session will include Mr Jean-Marie Dehousse, Belgian Minister for Scientific Policy and Scientific and Cultural Institutions, Mr André Bourgeois, Belgian Minister for Agriculture, Mr Claude Desama, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Research and Technology, and Mr Franco Borgo, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development.
