TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

It is appropriate to support and improve the efforts made by Member States to fully and properly implement the Union asylum acquis, in particular to grant appropriate reception conditions to displaced persons and applicants for, and beneficiaries of, international protection, to ensure the correct determination of status, in accordance with Directive 2011/95/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council , to apply fair and effective asylum procedures and to promote good practice in the field of asylum, so as to protect the rights of persons requiring international protection and enable Member States’ asylum systems to work efficiently.

1. Member States may apply the safe third country concept only where the competent authorities are satisfied that a person seeking international protection will be treated in accordance with the following principles in the third country concerned:

For Member States which are faced with specific and disproportionate pressures on their national asylum systems, due in particular to their geographical or demographic situation, the Office shall coordinate exchanges of information and all other activities related to the implementation of instruments and mechanisms for the intra-Community transfers of persons accorded international protection in the European Union.
Voor de lidstaten waarvan de nationale asielstelsels met name als gevolg van hun ligging of demografische situatie onder specifieke en onevenredige druk staan, coördineert het bureau de gegevensuitwisseling en alle andere maatregelen in verband met de toepassing van instrumenten en mechanismen betreffende de intracommunautaire hervestiging van personen die in de Europese Unie internationale bescherming genieten.

For that purpose, where the person enjoys international protection in a Member State other than the one in which that person is currently residing as a long-term resident, it is necessary to provide, unless refoulement is permitted under Directive 2004/83/EC, that that person may be expelled only to the Member State which granted international protection and that that Member State is obliged to readmit that person.

6. In the Resolution of 1 April 2004 on both the March 2003 Communication and the June 2003 Communication, the European Parliament urged the EU to consider and commit itself decisively to a new approach to international protection based, on the one hand, on better management of access for persons requiring international protection within the territory of the Member States and on the other on the firm establishment of suitable responses to refugees' protection requirements in their regions of origin.
6. In de resolutie van 1 april 2004 over de mededeling van maart 2003 en de mededeling van juni 2003 dringt het Europees Parlement bij de Europese Unie aan op resolute behandeling van en inzet voor een nieuwe benadering van internationale bescherming die enerzijds is gebaseerd op een beter beheer van de toegang van personen die internationale bescherming behoeven op het grondgebied van de lidstaten en anderzijds op de duidelijke vaststelling van passende reacties op de behoefte aan bescherming in de regio's van herkomst van de vluchtelingen.
