IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Considering the overall benefits of district heating in terms of contributing to a reduction in domestic use of fuels that cause high levels of air pollution, and in terms of energy efficiency improvement and CO2 emissions reduction, it should be possible for Member States to give more time to existing medium combustion plants which provide a substantial amount of their useful heat production to a public network for district heating, to adapt to the emission limit values set out in this Directive.
Aangezien de algemene voordelen van stadsverwarming in termen van bijdrage tot verminderd huishoudelijk gebruik van brandstoffen die sterke luchtverontreiniging veroorzaken, en in termen van verbetering van de energie-efficiëntie en CO2-emissieverlaging, moet het voor de lidstaten mogelijk zijn aan bestaande middelgrote stookinstallaties die een substantieel deel van hun warmteproductie leveren aan een publiek net van stadsverwarming meer tijd te geven om zich aan te passen aan de emissiegrenswaarden die in deze richtlijn zijn vastgesteld.

‘energy-efficient district heating and cooling’ means district heating and cooling which satisfies the definition of efficient district heating and cooling system as set out in Article 2(41) and (42) of Directive 2012/27/EU (26).
