To conclude, I should like to cite the words uttered by Pope Benedict XVI the other day – which I would be delighted, just once, to see upheld in the next European Council too – because they are words that provide a timely reminder of the responsibility shared by all citizens and by all political representatives, which is to fulfil the request that we seek in unity and in the common search for truth, that crucial incentive that we need to start building something important for ourselves and for future generations.
Pour conclure, je souhaiterais citer les mots prononcés par le pape Benoît XVI l’autre jour − que je serais ravi, juste pour une fois, de voir soutenu au prochain Conseil européen également − car il s’agit de mots qui renvoient à point nommé à la responsabilité partagée par tous les citoyens et par tous les représentants politiques, qui est de rechercher dans l’unité et dans la recherche commune de la vérité, ce coup d’ailes décisif dont nous avons besoin pour commencer à construire quelque chose d’important pour nous-mêmes et pour les générations futures.
