N. whereas President Juncker has clearly reiterated in his Political Guidelines that he wants a balanced and reasonable trade agreement with the United States and that – while the EU and the US can go a significant step further in recognising each other’s product standards and working towards transatlantic standards – the EU will not sacrifice its (food)-safety, health, animal health, social, environmental, and data protection standards and cultural diversity; recalling that the safety of the food we eat, the protection of Europeans’ personal data and its services of general interest are non-negotiable unless the aim is to achieve a higher level of protection;
N. considérant que le président Juncker a clairement réaffirmé dans ses orientations politiques qu'il souhaite parvenir à un accord commercial équilibré et acceptable avec les États-Unis et que – même si l'Union européenne et les États-Unis peuvent aller plus loin dans la reconnaissance réciproque des normes des produits, ou bien travailler à l'établissement de normes transatlantiques –, l'Union ne sacrifiera pas ses normes de sécurité (des aliments), de santé et de santé animale, ses normes sociales et environnementales, ses normes de protection des données ou sa diversité culturelle; que la sécurité des aliments, la protection des données personnelles des Européens et les services d'intérêt général de l'Union ne sont pas négociables, à moins que l'objectif soit de renforcer le niveau de protection;

G. whereas on 19 November 2014 Corina Creţu, Commissioner for Regional Policy, said that she expects ‘cohesion policy to make a significant contribution to the 300 billion investment package announced by President Juncker’, while failing to explain at her hearing in October how she intended to tackle the huge delay in payments in the field of cohesion policy;
