However, I notice that the rapporteur conspicuously failed to mention that this is actually a crucial internal market directive as well as a consumer protection directive, with the whole objective of simplifying the legislation, making it easier to get new names recognised and to get new textiles on the market – something like 12 months more quickly – and also, in connection with the work we are about to do on standardisation, giving a significant improvement there by bringing regulations under the basis of the European Committee for Standardisation, all of which will achieve significant savings to the industry as well as improve consumer benefits.
Je constate en revanche que le rapporteur a remarquablement omis de mentionner que ce texte constitue une directive cruciale pour le marché intérieur ainsi qu’une directive pour la protection des consommateurs, dont l’objectif global consiste à simplifier la législation. Il s’agit de faciliter la reconnaissance des nouvelles dénominations et la mise sur le marché de nouveaux produits textiles – en gagnant quelque chose comme 12 mois –, et également, dans le contexte du travail que nous nous apprêtons à effectuer en matière de normalisation, d’apporter des améliorations d’envergure en plaçant des règlements dans le cadre du Comité européen de normalisation.
