36. Section 48 is a transitional provision that specifies that any undistributed balance remaining in the separate account when the Interim Operations Act comes into force is to be credited to the contingency fund, and the CWB can use any portion of the undistributed balance credited to the contingency fund for any purpose that it could have under the old subsection 39(2) of the Canadian Wheat Board Act.
