On the question of the Atlantic accords, as Senator Carney has pointed out, and as I pointed out yesterday, there would be no Atlantic accords with either Newfoundland and Labrador or Nova Scotia if it were not for the Conservative party in opposition before Mr. Mulroney came into government and then the Conservative government, negotiated by Senator Carney and the premiers in office at that time.
Pour ce qui est des accords atlantiques, comme madame le sénateur Carney l'a signalé et comme je l'ai moi-même dit hier, aucun de ces accords n'aurait été conclu avec Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador ou avec la Nouvelle-Écosse, n'eût été du Parti conservateur, parti qui formait l'opposition avant que M. Mulroney ne soit porté au pouvoir, après quoi il a formé le gouvernement et ils ont été négociés par le sénateur Carney et les premiers ministres en poste.
