As has already been emphasised – and I thank the Commissioner in advance – my committee has worked very hard, holding hearings and many meetings, but we need a proposal, an initiative from the European Commission, which brings together European parties within the law of the Union with a new legal form under public law, with a legal personality that is also valid in all Member States and with a uniform structure that allows them to act as representatives of the European public interest.
Comme cela a été souligné, ma commission a travaillé beaucoup, elle a tenu des auditions et de nombreuses réunions, mais il nous faut désormais – et je remercie d’avance le commissaire – une proposition, une initiative de la Commission européenne qui inscrive les partis européens dans le droit de l’Union en les dotant d’une forme juridique nouvelle de droit public, d’une personnalité juridique valable dans tous les États membres et d’une organisation uniforme qui leur permette d’agir en tant que représentants de l’intérêt public européen.

I would like to thank Mrs Kolarska-Bobińska for her presentation, for bringing together the contributions from her fellow Members in an intelligent way and for the establishment of priorities, which is something that I personally feel is important.
