Definition: This block contains a wide variety of disorders that differ in severity and clinical form but that are all attributable to the use of one or more psychoactive substances, which may or may not have been medically prescribed. The third character of the code identifies the substance involved, and the fourth character specifies the clinical state. Definition: A depressive episode, which may be prolonged, arising in the aftermath of a schizophrenic illness. Some schizophrenic symptoms, either positive or negative , must still be present but they no longer dominate the clinical picture. These depressive states are associated with an increased risk of suicide. If the patient no longer has any schizophrenic symptoms, a depressive episode should be diagnosed (F32.-). Mrs Scrivener also gave her views on a number of criticisms that have been levelled at the new VAT regime: - In response to the criticism as to the complexity of the new VAT regime, Mrs Scrivener stated that the new regime was simpler than the one which had applied until 31 December 1992. She drew attention to the abolition of the "single administrative document" and of all customs formalities and checks at internal frontiers as something which, among other things, would allow SMEs to benefit fully from the internal market. The only requirement on firms was to submit, together with their regular VAT return, a periodic declaration giving the total amount of their sales to customers in other Member States.
