A. whereas the LuxLeaks scandal, which erupted on 5 November 2014 thanks to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, with the release of some 28 000 pages of confidential documents setting out more than 500 private tax arrangements between the Luxembourg tax administration and more than 300 multinational corporations (MNCs) between 2002 and 2010, revealed the extent of the use of secret deals featuring complex financial structures designed to obtain drastic tax reductions; whereas in many cases Luxembourg subsidiaries handling hundreds of millions of euros in business maintain little presence and conduct little economic activity in Luxembourg;
A. considérant que le scandale LuxLeaks, qui a éclaté le 5 novembre 2014 avec la publication, par le Consortium international des journalistes d'investigation, de près de 28 000 pages de documents confidentiels établissant plus de 500 arrangements fiscaux privés entre l'administration fiscale luxembourgeoise et plus de 300 entreprises multinationales entre 2002 et 2010, a révélé l'étendue du recours à des accords secrets faisant appel à des structures financières complexes destinées à obtenir des réductions d'impôt drastiques; que, dans de nombreux cas, les filiales luxembourgeoises, dont le chiffre d'affaires s'élève à plusieurs centaines de millions d'euros, ne maintiennent qu'une faible présence et n'exercent qu'une activité économique réduite au Luxembourg;

The latest events in connection with the hauliers' scandal in Luxembourg and in my homeland, Austria, have shown that there is much wrong in the transport sector.
