I would like to table the report of September 2005, Tax and Other Issues Related to Publicly Listed Flow-Through Entities, and refer him and all committee members, especially Mr. Peterson, who asked the same question, to this report for details on the impact on tax revenues as a result of income trusts, to table 5 on page 28, which gives a very clear breakdown of the impact and what to expect.

It is consistent, because we previously tabled a rejection of the budget for 2000 at the beginning of the current financial framework, and five years later our criticisms have been confirmed: insufficient funds for economic and social cohesion; underfunding and a lack of suitable programmes in the employment, social, environmental and cooperation fields; problems of execution and lack of transparency; and especially a budget subordinated to the dictates of the Stability and Growth Pact and to making ‘savings’, so as to finance enlargements as well as other priorities, such as war and propaganda, with the same financial resources.

I understand that the Minister cannot answer all of these questions, but all the same, I would have liked her to have come here, to the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, to answer these questions and especially to answer the questions that automatically arise from the many amendments that she has tabled.
