Whereas in accordance with the procedure provided for in the agreement on fisheries relations with the Faroe Islands, the Union has held additional consultations on reciprocal arrangements with the Faroe Islands on fishing opportunities for Atlanto-Scandian herring and blue whiting for 2015; it is therefore appropriate to fix fishing opportunities for these stocks.

The Parties hereby undertake to promote responsible fishing in EU waters based on the principle of non-discrimination between the different fleets fishing in those waters, without prejudice to the agreements concluded between developing countries within a geographical region, including reciprocal fisheries agreements.

I particularly welcome the following aspects of the proposed regulation: the decision to bring fishing capacity into line with the allocated quota; the undertaking to produce information on the implementation of the respective annual fishing plans within the required deadlines; the reciprocal international inspection programme to guarantee the efficacy of the recovery plan; and regulations for sport and recreational fishing.

In the conclusion or implementation of such agreements, the ACP States shall not discriminate against the Community or among the Member States, without prejudice to special arrangements between developing States within the same geographical area, including reciprocal fishing arrangements, nor shall the Community discriminate against ACP States.

This progressive and reciprocal liberalisation for industrial products, fish and fisheries products and agricultural and processed agricultural products is to be undertaken over a maximum period of ten years.
Cette libéralisation progressive et réciproque pour les produits industriels, les poissons et produits de la pêche ainsi que pour les produits agricoles et les produits agricoles transformés doit être faite sur une période maximale de 10 ans.

Both Parties agree to negotiate with a view to granting each other concessions in the trade of fish and fishery products on the basis of reciprocity and mutual interest, with the objective of reaching agreement on the details no later than two years after the signature of this Agreement.
