If you did have a case that was taken by the department where an individual, for whatever reason, lied on their immigration application and the department went forward and made their case and it went all the way to the cabinet, they would not be bound simply by the rule of law and a citizenship act that said that under this provision the individual has been proven to have lied, even if it were understandable or for good reason.
Si le ministère se trouve devant le cas d'une personne qui a menti, pour une raison quelconque, sur sa demande d'immigration et que le dossier se retrouve devant le Cabinet, ce dernier ne sera pas simplement obligé d'appliquer la Loi sur la citoyenneté du fait que cette personne aura menti, même pour des raisons compréhensibles.
