Following the decision of the 2002 Copenhagen Council to admit the 10 new Member States ( Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia ) to accede on 1 May 2004, the Accession Treaty and the Act of Accession were signed in Athens on 16 April 2003 and was submitted for ratification by the current and acceding Member States, in accordance with each State's national ratification procedures.
Suite à la décision du Conseil européen de Copenhague de 2002, autorisant les dix nouveaux États membres ( Chypre, République tchèque, Estonie, Hongrie, Lettonie, Lituanie, Malte, Pologne, République slovaque et Slovénie ) à adhérer à l’UE le 1er mai 2004, le traité d’adhésion et l’acte d’adhésion ont été signés à Athènes le 16 avril 2003 et présentés pour ratification aux États membres actuels et adhérents, conformément aux procédures de ratification nationales de chaque État.

3. The aim is that the Protocol should be implemented as soon as possible as a result of this ratification and ratification by all the EUROCONTROL contracting parties.
