Our colleagues on the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Policy have made every effort to incorporate many additional issues in
to the Commission's text and improve upon it, while our rapporteur, Mr Trakatellis, has made genuine efforts and worked extremely hard to take all these different wishes into account. This has not only resulted in a great many proposed amendments; in my view, it also presents us with a text which – as an opinion of the European Parliament – is useless in its current form. It is full of rep
etition, tautology, rambling paragraph ...[+++]s, contradictory statements, and demands which violate the principle of subsidiary, even though the opposite is claimed in the text.
Les efforts que beaucoup de collègues de la commission de l'environnement, de la santé publique et de la politique des consommateurs ont fourni pour tenir compte des nombreuses revendications dans leur ensemble, les tentatives d'améliorer le texte de la Commission et le travail très intensif et honnête de notre rapporteur, M. Trakatellis, qui a voulu prendre en considération tous les souhaits, nous ont non seulement apporté de nombreux amendements, mais aussi, j'en suis convaincue, nous ont amené à un texte qui, dans sa forme actuelle, n'est pas acceptable comme avis du Parlement européen.
