The European Commission has today decided to make a partial registration of a European Citizens' Initiative which invites the Commission to propose "Legal acts that clearly demonstrate the EU's intention to eliminate wage inequalities between Member States and which - to achieve this objective - allow for a more efficient cohesion of these states".
La Commission européenne a décidé ce jour de procéder à l'enregistrement partiel d'une initiative citoyenne européenne qui l'invite à proposer des «actes juridiques qui démontrent clairement l'intention de l'UE d'éliminer les inégalités salariales entre les États membres et qui – afin d'atteindre cet objectif – prévoient une cohésion plus efficace de ces États».

For it is in no way apparent from Article 11(4) TEU, Article 2(1) and Article 4(2)(b) of Regulation No 211/2011 that citizens’ initiatives directed at the abolition of existing legal acts or citizens’ initiatives directed at the non-adoption of proposed legal acts are to be inadmissible.

The Committee notes that the Commission's proposal involves changes to over 80 legal acts, including regulations and directives, and regrets that it is not in a position to assess each act individually, given the wide range of topics covered in the areas of:
