TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

1. Reiterates its position expressed in its resolution of 10 June 2015 on the situation in Hungary, which condemned the repeated statements made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán instigating a debate on a potential re-establishment of the death penalty in Hungary, denounced the public consultation on migration and the related country-wide billboard campaign initiated by the Hungarian Government, urged the Commission to activate the first stage of the EU framework to strengthen the rule of law and called on the Commission to present a proposal for the establishment of an EU mechanism on democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights;
1. réaffirme la position exprimée dans sa résolution du 10 juin 2015 sur la situation en Hongrie, qui condamne les déclarations répétées du Premier ministre hongrois Viktor Orban suscitant un débat sur le rétablissement éventuel de la peine de mort en Hongrie, dénonce la consultation publique sur l'immigration et la campagne d'affichage sur le sujet lancées par le gouvernement hongrois à l'échelle nationale, invite instamment la Commission à activer la première phase du cadre de l'Union pour renforcer l'état de droit et invite la Commission à présenter une proposition sur la création d'un mécanisme de l'Union pour la démocratie, l'état de droit et les droits fondamentaux;

3. Condemns the repeated statements made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán instigating a debate on a potential re-establishment of the death penalty in Hungary, thus institutionalising and fuelling a concept which is in breach of the values on which the Union is founded; notes, therefore, the statement made by Viktor Orbán not to reintroduce capital punishment in Hungary, and underlines the responsibility of a prime minister as head of government to promote EU values and to lead by example;
3. condamne les déclarations répétées du Premier ministre hongrois Viktor Orbán visant à susciter un débat sur le rétablissement éventuel de la peine de mort en Hongrie et par là même à institutionnaliser et à alimenter un concept qui est en violation des valeurs sur lesquelles l'Union est fondée; relève dès lors la déclaration faite par Viktor Orbán affirmant que la peine capitale ne sera pas rétablie en Hongrie, et souligne la responsabilité qui incombe à un Premier ministre, en tant que chef de gouvernement, de promouvoir les valeurs de l'Union et de montrer l'exemple à suivre;

Strongly condemns the repeated statements made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán instigating a debate on a potential re-establishment of the death penalty in Hungary, thus institutionalising and fuelling a concept which is in blatant breach of the values on which the Union is founded; deplores the fact that a Member State’s head of government is deliberately questioning the principle of respect for human dignity and human rights by opening up such a discussion, mainly motivated by internal political purposes;
2. condamne fermement les déclarations répétées du premier ministre hongrois Viktor Orban visant à susciter un débat sur le rétablissement éventuel de la peine de mort en Hongrie et par là même à institutionnaliser et à alimenter un concept qui est en violation flagrante des valeurs sur lesquelles l'Union est fondée; déplore le fait que le chef de gouvernement d'un État membre remette délibérément en question le principe du respect de la dignité humaine et des droits de l'homme en ouvrant un tel débat, lequel est principalement motivé par des objectifs de politique interne;

Article 6 : Only Greece, Hungary and Luxembourg have and Cyprus will have, after completing its legislative procedure, specific mitigating circumstances for the penalty imposed for terrorist crimes, taking account of some of the particular circumstances set up in this Article.
