IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS
On that day, many Ottawa passengers were left out in the cold.

In May 2010, Dr. Mark Salter, who is an associate professor in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa, told the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities that governments want this information so that they can build profiles not just of risky passengers, but safe passengers as well.

(Return tabled) Question No. 31 Mr. Francis Scarpaleggia: With regard to the two rerouted March 2008 Cubana Airlines flights flying from Havana and Varadero, Cuba to Montréal and the December 2008 Air Canada flight flying from Vancouver to Toronto that were stranded on the tarmacs of the Ottawa and Vancouver International Airports, respectively: (a) has the government investigated any or all of these incidents and, if so, what conclusions have been drawn regarding the cause of the passengers being held on a plane without enough food a ...[+++]

I cannot possibly refer to all the tragedies, but my thoughts also turn to the family of Rosemary Bleackley who was killed on Highway 31, just outside of Ottawa in July 1994; and to James and Mary Agapotis, whose son Dr. Michael Agapotis was killed in a Nepean intersection in July 1993; to the family of Roeann McNeely of Smith Falls, who was killed near Carleton Place when her car was struck by a drunk driver who had crossed the road into her path; to the Peplinski family, from just outside of Ottawa, whose son was killed walking along a road; to the family of Robert John Hamilton, who was a passenger ...[+++]

There is somehow a rule somewhere that says one company gets the right to haul passengers from the airport into Ottawa and the other companies haul passengers from Ottawa to the airport.
