The Commission considers that the aid granted to Consorzio Venezia Nuova is compatible with the common market by virtue of the exemption provided for in Article 87(3)(d) of the Treaty: in the case in point, the institutional role of the Consorzio is to safeguard and preserve the heritage of Venice, and the aid granted in the form of relief from social security contributions in the lagoon therefore has a cultural objective.
La Commission estime que les aides accordées au Consorzio doivent être jugées compatibles avec le marché commun en vertu de la dérogation prévue à l'article 87, paragraphe 3, point d), du traité. En effet, dans le cas d'espèce, le rôle institutionnel du Consorzio est la sauvegarde et la conservation du patrimoine de Venise, et les aides accordées sous forme de réduction des charges sociales dans la lagune ont donc une finalité culturelle.
