IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Whereas Council Directive 84/528/EEC of 17 September 1984 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to common provisions for lifting and mechanical handling appliances (5) serves as a framework Directive for two specific Directives, namely Directive 84/529/EEC and Council Directive 86/663/EEC of 22 December 1986 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to self-propelled industrial trucks (6), repealed by Council Directive 91/368/EEC of 20 June 1991 amending Directive 89/392/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to machinery (7);
considérant que la directive 84/528/CEE du Conseil, du 17 septembre 1984, concernant le rapprochement des législations des États membres relatives aux dispositions communes aux appareils de levage et de manutention (5), sert de directive-cadre à deux directives particulières, à savoir la directive 84/529/CEE et la directive 86/663/CEE du Conseil, du 22 décembre 1986, concernant le rapprochement des législations des États membres relatives aux chariots de manutention automoteurs (6), abrogée par la directive 91/368/CEE du Conseil, du 20 juin 1991, modifiant la directive 89/392/CEE, concernant le rapprochement des législations des États membres relatives aux machines (7);

Whereas Council Directive 84/528/EEC of 17 September 1984 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to common provisions for lifting and mechanical handling appliances (4) has laid down in particular the procedures for EEC type-examination and EEC inspection for these appliances ; whereas, according to that Directive, it is necessary to lay down the technical requirements which electrically operated lifts and their essential components (locking devices, landing doors, overspeed governors, safety gears, hydraulic buffers) must satisfy in order to be freely imported, marketed and used after having undergone the requisite inspections and bearing accordingly the required marks and signs,
considérant que la directive 84/528/CEE du Conseil, du 17 septembre 1984, concernant le rapprochement des législations des États membres relatives aux dispositions communes aux appareils de levage ou de manutention (4), a notamment défini les procédures d'examen CEE de type et de contrôle CEE de ces appareils ; que, conformément à ladite directive, il y a lieu de fixer les prescriptions techniques auxquelles doivent satisfaire les ascenseurs mus électriquement et leurs éléments constitutifs de construction (dispositifs de verrouillage, portes palières, limiteurs de vitesse, parachutes, amortisseurs hydrauliques) pour pouvoir être importés, commercialisés et utilisés librement après avoir subi les contrôles et être munis des marques et signes prévus,
