The high-level officials had meetings with Mr. D. Frisch, Director-General, Mr. I. Garcia-Valdecasas, Head of Vice-President Marin's Cabinet, Mr. Ph. Soubestre and Mr. P. Pooley, Deputy Directors-General, Mr. G. Livi, Director for eastern and southern Africa, and with Commission officials specialized in the fields of technical and financial cooperation, Stabex, Sysmin, general cooperation and fisheries.

This visit forms part of the Commission's policy, as Mr. I. Garcia-Valdecasas recalled, to make a particular effort as far as information is concerned for new ACP countries. Seminars had been organized for Mozambique and Angola when they joined the Lome III Convention. Recently, seminars have also been organized for the two other new members of the Lome IV Convention, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Cette visite s'inscrit dans la politique suivie par la Commission, comme a rappelé I. Garcia-Valdecasas, de faire un effort particulier d'information vis-à-vis des nouveaux pays A.C.P. Des séminaires furent organisés pour le Mozambique et l'Angola quand ils adhérèrent à la Convention de Lomé III. Récemment des séminaires ont été aussi organisés pour les deux autres nouveaux arrivants à la Convention de Lomé IV: Haïti et Républicaine Dominicaine.
