F. whereas on 28 April 2015 following recent events in Hungary, the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, made a statement concerning the need for public debate on the death penalty; whereas on 30 April 2015 the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, issued a press release stating that Viktor Orbán had assured him that the Hungarian Government has no plans to take any steps to reintroduce the death penalty and will comply with and honour all European treaties and legislation; whereas Viktor Orbán reiterated similar statements on 1 May 2015, however, during an interview on national public radio, adding that the decision to reintroduce the death penalty should fall under the sole competence of the Member States, thus deviating from the provisions of the EU Treaties;
F. considérant que, le 28 avril 2015, à la suite des derniers événements en Hongrie, le Premier ministre hongrois, Viktor Orbán, a réclamé un débat public sur la peine de mort; considérant que, le 30 avril 2015, le Président du Parlement européen, Martin Schulz, a publié un communiqué de presse dans lequel il déclare que Viktor Orbán l'a assuré que le gouvernement hongrois n'avait pas l'intention de prendre quelque mesure que ce soit pour rétablir la peine de mort et qu'il s'engageait à respecter et à honorer l'ensemble des traités et de la législation de l'Union européenne; considérant que Viktor Orbán a toutefois de nouveau tenu des propos similaires le 1er mai 2015 au cours d'un entretien à la radio publique nationale, ajoutant que la décision de rétablir la peine de mort devrait relever de la compétence exclusive des États membres, contrairement à ce que prévoient les dispositions des traités de l'Union;
