Council Directive 90/314/EEC of 13 June 1990 on package travel, package holidays and package tours requires certain information to be made available to consumers, but that information does not include the identity of the operating air carrier.

(3) This Regulation should not affect other rights of passengers established by Community legislation and notably by Council Directive 90/314/EEC of 13 June 1990 on package travel, package holidays and package tours and Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 February 2004 establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to air passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights .

(11) Package travel customers enjoy already a high level of protection through Council Directive 90/314/EEC of 13 June 1990 on package holiday and package tours , which holds tour operators responsible for the proper performance of the package, including air transport.
