Your Rapporteur proposes that the Committee supports certain of the Council's proposals where these seem sensible, either because they reflect current caselaw or offer a clearer intepretation of the Commission’s proposals. A more precise wording can enable application.

As regards the first area in which gender needs to be mainstreamed – the policies and actions of Parliament – the proposals to set up a high-level policy group, to restore the gender balance in Parliament’s governing bodies and to begin implementing gender mainstreaming in the work of the committees are certainly to be welcomed.
S'agissant du premier domaine d'application de l'approche intégrée, c'est‑à‑dire les politiques et les actions du Parlement, il convient de se féliciter sans réserve des propositions visant à mettre en place un groupe politique de haut niveau, à rééquilibrer la présence des femmes dans les organes de direction du Parlement et à introduire la mise en œuvre de l'approche intégrée dans les travaux des commissions.
