Mr. Speaker, while CIDA is spending $18 million on the reintegration of child soldiers in Nepal, Sudan and Colombia, the government did not bother to lift a finger to offer Omar Khadr the same protection that he was entitled to expect from Canada, which is a signatory to the protocol on child soldiers.
Monsieur le Président, pendant que l'ACDI consacre 18 millions de dollars à réintégrer des enfants soldats au Népal, au Soudan et en Colombie, le gouvernement n'a pas daigné lever le petit doigt pour offrir à Omar Khadr la même protection qu'il était en droit d'attendre de la part du Canada, qui est signataire du Protocole relatif aux enfants soldats.
