Rwanda provided this first-ever notification to Canada on June 19, 2007, requesting to import 260,000 packs, or seven million pills, of the triple-combination HIV/AIDS therapy manufactured by Apotex Inc. Once Rwanda provided its notice, the wheels for Apotex Inc. to file an application for authorization under Canada's Access to Medicines Regime were set in motion.
