The federation is known as the Red Cross and Red Crescent Society, hence some of the difficulty with the Magen David Adom—not at the level of principle, action, and humanitarian intervention, but at this unfortunately, up to this point, insoluble question of what symbol to use and whether the symbols should be limited to those already in use.
