Het belang van de olijfteelt blijkt uit het feit dat er in 1698 zeven oliemolens waren op het eiland Cres (fra J. Lemessi, 1979, Note storiche, geografiche, artistiche sull’isola di Cherso, Roma, vol. IV, blz. 358).
L’importance de la culture des olives est illustrée par le fait que l’île de Cres comptait, au total, 7 moulins à huile en 1698 (fra J.
