Een eventuele vertegenwoordiging van België in GREVIO (Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, een onafhankelijk orgaan bestaande uit experten, verantwoordelijk voor de opvolging van de implementatie van de conventie door de lidstaten) is niet verplicht maar wel mogelijk.
Une éventuelle représentation de la Belgique au sein du GREVIO (Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, un organe indépendant composé d'experts, responsable du suivi de la mise en oeuvre de la Convention par les états-membres) n'est pas obligatoire mais possible.

Le volet du programme consacré au mécanisme de surveillance est une réponse concrète à la résolution 1612 du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies qui demande "to establish a monitoring and reporting mechanism (MRM), managed by country-based task forces co-led by UNICEF and the highest UN representative in the country, to provide timely and reliable information on six grave children's rights violations: a) Killing or maiming of children; b) Recruitment or use of children by armed forces or armed groups; c) Attacks on schools or hospitals; d) Rape or other sexual violence against children; e) Abduction of children; f) Denial of humanitarian access to children". La Belgique répartit les moyens alloués entre deux types d'intervention: - soutien à des mécanismes de surveillance efficaces et mise en oeuvre de plans d'action en RCA, Somalie, RDC, aux Philippines, au Myanmar et au Soudan du Sud; - appui au siège de l'Unicef pour la mise en place effective à tous les niveaux du MRM.

3. Recalling the commitments agreed by the participating States at Istanbul to « undertake measures to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women, and to end violence against women and children as well as sexual exploitation and all forms of trafficking in human beings » and to « promote the adoption or strengthening of legislation to hold accountable persons responsible for these acts and strengthen the protection of victims »,

Rappelant les engagements souscrits d'un commun accord par les États participants à Istanbul, en vue de « prendre des mesures pour éliminer toutes formes de discrimination à l'égard des femmes et mettre fin aux violences contre les femmes et les enfants, ainsi qu'à l'exploitation sexuelle et à toutes les formes de traite des êtres humains » et de « promouvoir l'adoption ou le renforcement d'une législation ayant pour objet d'obliger les auteurs de ces actes à en répondre et améliorer la protection des victimes »,

Emphasizes the responsibility of all States to put an end to impunity and to prosecute those responsible for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes including those relating to sexual and other violence against women and girls, and in this regard stresses the need to exclude these crimes, where feasible from amnesty provisions;

Souligne que tous les États ont l'obligation de mettre fin à l'impunité et de poursuivre en justice ceux qui sont accusés de génocide, de crimes contre l'humanité et de crimes de guerre, y compris toutes les formes de violence sexiste et autre contre les femmes et les petites filles, et à cet égard fait valoir qu'il est nécessaire d'exclure si possible ces crimes du bénéfice des mesures d'amnistie;

La publication d'un ouvrage sur l'expérience qui a été accumulée en la matière en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes; une étude intitulée « Violence against Women in educational institutions » dans la partie anglophone de l'Afrique occidentale; campagnes de sensibilisation au problème des mutilations génitales dans l'Afrique occidentale francophone et publication d'un « Gender Resource Directory on Domestic Violence, Desertion and Rape » en Asie du Sud-Est.
