The mission clearly indicated to all the concerned parties that the heritage value of the Mughrabi pathway, an integral part of the site inscribed on the World Heritage List, cannot be limited to the archaeological structures, but has to include its important cultural, religious and symbolic aspects, and that these should be duly taken into account in any phase of the consolidation and restoration process.

La mission a indiqué clairement à toutes les parties concernées que la valeur patrimoniale de l'accès à la Porte des Maghrébins, qui fait partie intégrante du site inscrit sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial, ne peut se limiter aux structures archéologiques mais doit englober aussi ses importantes dimensions culturelle, religieuse et symbolique; celles-ci devraient donc être dûment prises en compte dans toutes les phases du processus de consolidation et de restauration.
