In het Proposed Programme Budget 2004-2005, worden de middelen voor gezondheid van vrouwen aangewend « to support Member States in the development of policies, strategies and interventions that effectively address high-priority and neglected health issues of women throughout the life span, and in the creation of a body of evidence on the impact of gender on health and of tools, norms and standards to improve gender responsiveness of health interventions and promote gender equity in health» (7)
Dans son projet de budget pour le programme 2004-2005, elle destinait ses ressources relatives à la santé des femmes à « apporter son soutien aux États membres pour l'élaboration de politiques, stratégies et interventions qui s'attellent efficacement aux problèmes de santé de première priorité et négligés des femmes pendant toute leur existence, et pour la création d'un ensemble de données factuelles sur l'influence de la sexospécificité sur la santé, et d'instruments, normes et critères visant à assurer une meilleure prise en compte des sexospécificités dans les interventions sanitaires et à promouvoir l'équité entre les sexes au plan de la santé » (7) .
