De nood aan een plan voor de surveillance van muggen is voor het eerst in 2008 door de Risk Assessment Group (RAG) gemeld op basis van de resultaten van een project voor de inventarisatie van muggen (Modirisk). Zo zijn er in ons land twee invasieve muggenpopulaties geïdentificeerd waaronder de Aedes japonicus.
Le besoin d'un plan de surveillance pour les moustiques a été pointé par le Risk Assessment Group (RAG) en 2008 pour la première fois, sur base des résultats d'un projet de recensement des moustiques (Modirisk) qui identifiait deux populations de moustiques invasifs dans notre pays dont l'Aedes japonicus.
