The European Community notes that the Exchange of Letters between the European Community and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, which takes the place of signature of the Agreement between the European Community and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on readmission of persons residing without authorisation, has been accomplished and that this cannot be interpreted as acceptance or recognition by the European Community in whatever form or content of a denomination other than the „former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”.

6. wijst de bevoegde autoriteiten en instellingen van het land er met name op dat zij hun verplichtingen moeten nakomen om overeenkomstig de inhoud en het tijdschema waarover een akkoord is bereikt, de hervormingen uit te voeren en te voltooien van de openbare omroep, de politie, defensie en de veiligheidsdiensten en dat zij alle nodige wetten moeten goedkeuren en toepassen, alsmede volledige medewerking met het Internationaal Straftribunaal voor het voormalige Joegoslavië (International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY) moeten garanderen en ervoor zorgen dat de grondwet strookt met het Europees Verdrag voor de Rechten van de Mens;
6. enjoint les autorités nationales compétentes, et les institutions en particulier, à respecter leurs engagements visant à mettre en œuvre et achever, conformément au contenu et au calendrier adoptés, les réformes de la radiodiffusion publique, de la police, de la défense et des services secrets, et à adopter et mettre en œuvre les dispositions nécessaires, ainsi qu'à garantir une coopération pleine et entière avec le TPIY tout en veillant à ce que la Constitution soit compatible avec la Convention européenne des droits de l'homme;
