10. Alarmed, at the same time, about certain practices which violate most fundamental human rights and freedoms and are contrary to international human rights treaties which form the cornerstone of post-World War II human rights protection, such as indefinite imprisonment of foreign citizens without charge and without examining the legality of their detention by an independent and impartial tribunal, degrading treatment during interrogations, the interception of private communications without subsequently informing those concerned, extradition to countries likely to apply the death penalty or use torture or ill-treatment, and detention and harassment on the grounds of political or religious activity,

S'inquiétant en même temps de certaines pratiques qui enfreignent les droits de l'homme et les libertés de caractère particulièrement fondamental et sont contraires aux traités internationaux sur les droits de l'homme qui constituent le pilier de la protection des droits de l'homme instituée après la deuxième guerre mondiale, telles que l'incarcération indéfinie d'étrangers sans inculpation précise, ni possibilité de faire examiner la légalité de leur détention par un tribunal indépendant et impartial, le traitement dégradant au cours des interrogatoires, l'interception des communications privées sans que les intéressés en soient par la suite informés, l'extradition vers des pays susceptibles d'appliquer la peine de mort ou la torture ou de mauvais traitements, ainsi que la détention et les agressions au nom du militantisme politique ou religieux,

3. Recognizes the steps taken by the OSCE and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to address the problems of anti-Semitism and other forms of intolerance, including the work of the Tolerance and Non-Discrimination Unit at the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the appointment of the Personal Representatives of the Chairman-in-Office, and the organization of expert meetings on the issue of anti-Semitism;
3. Prend acte des mesures adoptées par l'OSCE et le Bureau des Institutions démocratiques et des Droits de l'homme (BIDDH) pour aborder le problème de l'antisémitisme et d'autres formes d'intolérance, notamment les travaux de l'Unité pour la tolérance et la non-discrimination au sein du BIDDH, la nomination des Représentants personnels du Président en exercice et l'organisation de réunions d'experts sur la question de l'antisémitisme;

33. strongly condemns any form of discrimination or stigmatisation on any ground such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social situation, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status, as set out in Article 14 of the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights;

− I supported this resolution as trafficking in human beings is a modern form of slavery, a serious crime and a severe violation of fundamental human rights.
– (EN) J’ai soutenu cette résolution car la traite des êtres humains est une forme moderne d’esclavage, une infraction pénale grave et une sérieuse violation des droits fondamentaux de l’être humain.

− First of all, the substantive issue that we have addressed is that freedom of expression, in all its forms, is not only a fundamental human right, but the cornerstone of all democratic societies.
