De Engelse Information commissioner is bevoegd op grond van section 54 of the Freedom of Information Law om bij niet naleving van een information notice waarbij hij bepaalde informatie of documenten opvraagt bij een administratie om dit voor de High Court te brengen.

AM. considérant que tous les pays européens ne disposent pas d'un système de normalisation et d'une protection intégrée de l'accès des citoyens aux informations en tant qu'instrument de contrôle et de connaissance, pour garantir une véritable législation sur la liberté de l'information au sein de l'Union européenne;

46. demande à la Commission de lancer des propositions tendant à renforcer la protection des libertés civiles, la transparence et le contrôle démocratique dans le cadre des politiques antiterroristes, par exemple en améliorant l'accès aux documents par la voie d'une loi de l'UE sur la liberté de l'information et en renforçant l'Agence des droits fondamentaux, le CEPD et le groupe de travail «article 29»;
