Het nieuwe initiatief bouwt voort op bestaande onderzoeksprioriteiten; bijv. FIRE (Future Internet Research and Experimentation), de faciliteit waarmee het toekomstige internetonderzoek en de experimenten daarmee op nieuwe netwerk- en dienstenparadigma’s mogelijk worden gemaakt.
La nouvelle initiative s’appuie sur des axes prioritaires de recherche actuels. Ainsi, l’infrastructure FIRE ( Future Internet Research and Experimentation) a commencé d’offrir des services à la communauté des chercheurs, qui peuvent expérimenter des concepts de réseaux et de services résolument nouveaux.
