Zware chemotherapie definiëren wij als een behandeling bestaande uit één van de volgende therapieschema’s: mitomycine C, nitrosurea, cyclofosfamide en cisplatine, combinatie van vijf of meer verschillende chemotherapeutische middelen; radiotherapie = 4500 rads afgegeven aan een bestralingsveld van ten hoogste 20 cm x 20 cm of afgegeven aan meerdere velden.
Nous définissons la chimiothérapie lourde comme celle incluant l’un des traitements suivants : Mitomycine C, nitrosurée, cyclophosphamide et cisplatine, combinaison de cinq agents chimiothérapeutiques différents ou plus ; radiothérapie = à 4.500 rads délivrés sur un champ d’irradiation de maximum 20 cm x 20 cm ou délivrés sur plusieurs champs.

Bij de patiënten die voordien een zware chemotherapie gevolgd hebben en aan wie men carboplatine als monotherapie wenst toe te dienen, dient de berekeningsformule van Egorin gebruikt te worden:

**Onder patiënten die een zware chemotherapie gevolgd hebben worden patiënten verstaan die een van de volgende behandelingsregimes hebben gehad: -Mitomycine C -Nitrosourea -Combinatietherapie met doxorubicine / cyclofosfamide / cisplatine -Combinatietherapie met 5 of meer geneesmiddelen -Radiotherapie ≥ 4500 rad, geconcentreerd op een gebied van 20 x 20 cm, of op meer dan één gebied.

De Calvertformule dient niet te worden gebruikt bij patiënten die een zware chemotherapie gevolgd hebben**.
