In the same train of thought, a very recent report of the Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, an independent scientific advisory body in the United Kingdom, shows the state of affairs concerning the potential toxicity of caffeine in pregnant women and affirms, with great circumspection, that caffeine is already likely to affect the development of the foetus from a daily consumption of 200 mg (COT, 2008).
